I have it not with the musician, but since I play metal also in the rehearsal room with the band. So it's insufficient for a drummer who likes to hit. Actually it's quite loud, it can handle harder genres, it just depends on the acoustics of the room, the size of the space. Heavymetal will still do just fine anywhere. But for thrash/death/blackmetal I'd rather choose 2x or 4x12 and of course more W amplifier.
