I own a Randy Rhoads type guitar and unfortunately the stand is unusable for this type of guitar. The very first gig I played, I damaged the paint on my guitar when I put the guitar down. The tailpiece of the guitar actually hit the ground. Later I tried to turn the bottom part on which the guitar sits upside down. That didn't help either, and the guitar still sits with the tip on the ground. The only thing I'm going to do is drill more holes in the stand to fit the seating part, so you know. I don't understand why the manufacturer doesn't already do this straight away to give the stand more use. For classic guitar shapes, the stand would probably be fine. If you have any odd shapes, try the stand carefully in the quiet of your home first.
