Yamaha YDS-122 Hybrid Wind Instrument

Digital Saxophone Playing Made Easy

The Yamaha YDS-122 is a digital saxophone that makes saxophone playing accessible anywhere. Volume is fully controllable, so practicing through headphones at night no longer disturbs anyone. The same key layout as a real saxophone means fingerings transfer directly to an acoustic instrument later.

What Makes This Digital Saxophone Different

A breath sensor detects breath pressure, giving real control over tone and dynamics. The specially designed mouthpiece removes the need for advanced embouchure technique, so beginners produce sound right away. 56 saxophone voices sampled from Yamaha's acoustic soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones keep the sound natural.

Who the YDS-122 Is For

The YDS-122 is the right choice for beginners wanting to learn saxophone quietly, and for apartment dwellers needing silent practice. Travelers and gigging musicians also benefit from a saxophone-style sound without hauling a heavy acoustic instrument. A headphone output, a smartphone aux input, and the YDS Controller app round out the feature set.
