The Darkness are a British hard rock band formed in Lowestoft in 2000, featuring brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins, Frankie Poullain on bass, and Rufus Tiger Taylor on drums. They rose to fame with their 2003 debut album Permission to Land, which included the hit single I Believe in a Thing Called Love and earned multiple Brit Awards. Known for their energetic performances and revival of classic rock sounds, The Darkness experienced lineup changes and a brief split before reuniting in 2011. Since then, they have released several more albums, including Hot Cakes, Last of Our Kind, Pinewood Smile, Easter Is Cancelled, and Motorheart, and continue to tour widely. In 2025, they performed at the VE Day Celebration at Horse Guards Parade.
