The Cramps were an American rock band active from 1976 to 2009, known for blending punk rock and rockabilly to help create the psychobilly genre. Centered around singer Lux Interior and guitarist Poison Ivy, the group went through various lineup changes over the years. Their first stable lineup was completed in 1976, and they released their influential debut album Songs the Lord Taught Us in 1980. The band ended with the passing of Lux Interior in 2009.
