Sela Chau Lotus Gong 20"
The Sela Chau Gongs are real masterpieces, handcrafted in China from a special bronze alloy. They are available in 20, 24, 28, 32 and 36 inch sizes. The larger the model, the deeper and more voluminous the sound when struck. Each model comes with a maple mallet with a velvet covered plastic head and zippered carry case.
The Sela Chau Gong Lotus has a traditional shape with a rim that curves backwards. Its surface is treated and turned differently on the outer edge, in the middle and in the area in between, which alone ensures a very special, characteristic look with a partially shimmering, matt gold finish. The Sela Chau Gong Lotus particularly stands out with its elegant lotus motif, which is worked into the outer area. The lotus flower is also known as the ""flower of life"" and has many spiritual meanings - among other things, it stands for purity of heart, creativity, wisdom and enlightenment.
Gongs are an integral part of numerous cultures around the world and produce soothing, long-lasting, esoteric sounds. Depending on how strong, where and with what the Sela Chau Gong is struck, other frequency ranges come to the fore. It can be played in far more ways than it first appears.
Because of their relaxing effect, gongs are used in meditation and sound therapy, among other things, as their vibrations penetrate the entire body. But percussionists also like to use a gong as a special effect in a musical and orchestral context.
