Premiata Forneria Marconi, known as PFM, is an Italian progressive rock band formed in 1970 and active to this day. Recognized as the first Italian band to gain international success, PFM broke into British and American charts and toured widely across Europe and the United States in the seventies. Between 1973 and 1977, they recorded several albums in English, performing at major festivals and on national television. PFM is known for blending symphonic and traditional Italian music with rock, as well as pioneering the use of synthesizers in Italy, making them a key influence in the progressive rock scene.
