Ólafur Arnalds is an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist and producer from Mosfellsbær, known for blending strings and piano with electronic loops and beats to create atmospheric, genre-blurring music. Formerly a drummer in hardcore and metal bands, he later founded the experimental techno project Kiasmos with Janus Rasmussen. Arnalds is acclaimed for his film and TV scores, including his award-winning music for the series Broadchurch. His work has earned him international recognition, including a BAFTA and nominations for both Emmy and Grammy Awards, especially for his album Some Kind of Peace and collaborations with artists like Bonobo.
