Noah and the Whale were an English indie rock and folk band formed in Twickenham in 2006. Known for their melodic sound and heartfelt lyrics, the group was led by Charlie Fink with Tom Hobden, Matt "Urby Whale" Owens, Fred Abbott, and Michael Petulla in the final line-up. Previous members included drummer Doug Fink and singer-songwriter Laura Marling. The band earned critical acclaim, performing at major venues including a sold-out Royal Albert Hall and at top festivals such as Coachella and Glastonbury. They also toured with bands like Arcade Fire and Phoenix, and appeared on shows like Late Show with David Letterman and Later with Jools Holland. Noah and the Whale disbanded in 2015.
