Marillion

Marillion

Marillion is a British neo-progressive rock band founded in 1979 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Bridging the gap between post-punk and classic prog rock, they became the most successful neo-prog band of the 1980s. The band’s early years, fronted by original singer Fish, produced major UK chart success with albums like Misplaced Childhood and singles such as Kayleigh and Lavender. After Fish's departure in 1988, Steve Hogarth took over as lead vocalist. Marillion went on to release a steady stream of albums, evolving musically while maintaining a devoted international following. Known for pioneering crowdfunding in music, they have released 20 studio albums and sold over 15 million records worldwide. Despite limited mainstream exposure, Marillion remains respected for their innovative approach and compelling live performances, with recent albums still achieving high chart positions in the UK.
