Living Colour is a groundbreaking American rock band from New York City, formed in 1984. The lineup features guitarist Vernon Reid, vocalist Corey Glover, drummer Will Calhoun, and bassist Doug Wimbish. Known for blending heavy metal, funk, jazz, hip-hop, punk, and alternative rock, their music often tackles both personal and political themes, especially issues of race in America. Living Colour achieved major success with their debut album Vivid in 1988 and their Grammy-winning single "Cult of Personality." They have released six studio albums and are recognized for their energetic sound and outspoken lyrics. After a brief split in the mid-1990s, the band reformed and continues to create new music.
