Korg Wavestate mk II Synthesizer
With Wave Sequencing 2.0, the wavestate mkII offers a new level of sonic exploration. Separate the timing, sequence, and melody of each wave sequence, allowing for independent manipulation. Shape the characteristics of each "Lane" with different step counts, start/end points, loop points, shapes, gate times, and step sequencer values. As the sequence progresses, the individual Lanes merge to create unique outputs, resulting in organic and ever-changing sounds. Modulate each Lane's parameters separately for each note, adding depth and complexity to your compositions.
The wavestate mkII features an array of knobs and controllers, providing instant access to essential parameters. Easily tweak filters, envelopes, LFOs, and effects in real-time. The eight programmable Mod Knobs offer endless sonic possibilities, taking your sounds in entirely new directions. Take advantage of the Pitch Bend and Modulation Wheels, along with the unique Vector Joystick, to add expressive nuances to your performances.
For added inspiration, the dedicated randomization button generates new sounds with intelligent randomization. Randomize the entire sound or specific elements such as filters, sample lanes, or effects, creating fresh starting points for your compositions. Discover new sonic territories with every press of the dice icon.
Enhance your sounds with a wide range of effects, including compressors, EQs, choruses, flangers, phasers, stereo delays, and more. Stand out with modeled effects such as the Wave Shaper, Talking Modulator, Reverse Delay, Multiband Mod Delay, and Overb, along with classic guitar pedals and VOX guitar amps.
The wavestate mkII comes loaded with a massive sample library totaling in the gigabytes, providing endless raw material for Wave Sequences. Additionally, import up to 4 GB of your own Multisamples using the free Sample Builder application. Layer up to four Programs in a Performance, each with their own effects and arpeggiator, for rich and complex results. Set Lists and Smooth Sound Transitions make organization and performance seamless.
Connectivity is a breeze with balanced stereo outputs, a stereo headphone output, and MIDI jacks for integration with other instruments and gear. The wavestate mkII supports class-compliant USB MIDI connections to Windows and Mac computers, offering versatility in any setup. The free Editor/Librarian and Sample Builder programs provide a comprehensive editing experience and additional sound management options.
Designed by KORG R&D in California, the wavestate mkII showcases their expertise in sound synthesis and instrument development. Collaborating with renowned sound designers, the wavestate mkII offers a stunning sound library that pushes the boundaries of sonic possibilities.
To elevate your music production even further, the wavestate mkII includes a bundle of music software, including "Ozone Elements" by Izotope for mastering, "Skoove" for improving keyboard playing skills, and software synths from KORG and other brands. These tools empower you to unlock your creative potential from the moment you start using the synthesizer.
Unlock a world of sonic exploration with the KORG wavestate mkII synthesizer. Its intuitive interface, groundbreaking technology, and expansive sound capabilities will inspire and transform your music production, taking it to the next level.
Number of Keys: 37
This instrument has 37 keys, equivalent to 3 octaves, providing a wide range of tones for a variety of musical applications.
Keyboard Type
- Velocity-Sensitive
- Release sensitive
Polyphony: 96
The polyphony of this instrument allows up to <%=tp_value % notes to be played simultaneously, providing rich and complex musical possibilities.
LFO: 4
An LFO, or low frequency oscillator, brings electronic sound to life. It adds movement and interest to synthetic sounds and effects, playing an important role in both subtle synthesis and bold sound design. However, you won't hear the LFO itself because it acts as a modulator. This means that it does not directly affect the audio signal, but adjusts other parameters such as oscillator pitch and filter clipping.
Envelope: ADSR
The ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) type envelope filter gives you precise control over the dynamics and shape of your sound. The ADSR components are detailed as follows: Attack: Specifies how quickly the sound reaches its maximum volume upon activation. Decay: Specifies the time it takes for the volume to drop from maximum to sustain. Sustain: Represents a stable volume level that is maintained as long as the sound is active. Release: Specifies how quickly the volume fades to zero after the sound has been released.
Oscillators: Yes
A powerful oscillator system allows users to create rich and variable sound textures. Oscillators can generate a variety of waveforms, including sine, square, triangle, and noise, allowing for creativity and experimentation.
Pitch Bend: Yes
The Pitch Bend allows smooth pitch changes, adding expressiveness to musical expression. Often used to create effects such as glissando or vibrato, this feature allows the player to make subtle or dramatic changes to the sound in real time. Pitch bend allows musicians to create smooth transitions between notes, increasing the dynamics and expressiveness of their performances.
Modulation: Yes
Modulation allows you to change different aspects of the sound in real time, opening up a wide range of creative possibilities. For example, it can affect the pitch of the sound, creating a vibrato effect, or it can change the amplitude of the signal, creating a tremolo effect. It can also adjust filtering to create smooth transitions between frequency bands and dynamic textures. Modulation can also be used to change the character of the sound depending on the time or intensity of playing, giving the sound a lively and moving character.
Sequencer: Yes
The sequencer provides musicians with a tool for composing and arranging music, allowing them to create and edit musical sequences. This feature allows you to record and play back repeating patterns. This makes it easy to create complex rhythms and melodies. The sequencer also allows you to layer different musical elements on top of each other, sync with other devices, and adjust parameters in real time. This flexibility makes the sequencer an invaluable tool for producing music, experimenting with new sounds and creating original compositions.
Arpeggiator: Yes
The Arpeggiator transforms chords into sequences of individual notes played in various rhythmic and melodic patterns. Instead of playing the chords as a harmonic whole, the Arpeggiator breaks the chords into individual notes and plays them sequentially according to the selected algorithm.
