The MM-6 is designed to have a continuous output of 85dB at 2.2 meters with 20dB headroom. In practice, this means that the speaker has enough power for long-term listening at a safe level in most home environments.

20 dB of headroom ensures that current peaks in sound pressure level, including instruments such as a kick drum and effects such as explosions or gunfire, can be reproduced accurately and with minimal distortion.

The MM-6 is equipped with a limiter circuit to protect the speaker from dangerous voltage levels. In other words, you don't have to worry about blowing up the speaker by playing too loud.

Dangerous voltages will be clearly audible as distortion, indicating that the speaker is receiving too much input. In this case, it is recommended to lower the volume of the playback material.

The opening below the woofer on the MM-6 is called a port tube and is used to give your speaker extra bass without having to use a larger and more expensive woofer.
Most port tubes create distracting noise that increases the noise level of your system and blurs the low frequencies. Because of this, most of the port tubes are located on the back of the speaker, making it difficult to place the speaker close to a wall.

The 3-D Imaging Waveguide lets you hear a three-dimensional soundstage from a stereo pair of speakers. By adapting the shape of the waveguide to the interactions of the HF and LF transducers, this waveguide creates a continuous stereo image that is wider, taller and deeper than the space in which the speakers are placed.
