The Punchcoal (cigar box type) guitar looks very good. The workmanship is of high quality, the finish (called "open pore") is also nice, which makes the natural texture of the wood stand out. However, what is important is the sound of the guitar, which in my opinion is also very good. It is, of course, somewhat different than a classical guitar, but it is what I imagined for a cigar box guitar. This is also helped by the resonator installed, which was one of the reasons why I decided to go for this guitar. I haven't had a chance to test the guitar "over electrics" yet, so I can't judge the quality of the pickup, but I believe it will be fine as well. The guitar is very easy to play with slide, for open tuning it has to be re-tuned a little bit, of course. For guitar fans of blues and similar genres I would recommend the guitar in any case.
