Heil Sound PR31 Black Short Body Microphone for Tom
The Heil 31 BW microphone is the answer to those who use the PR 30 for cymbals & toms, but need it to fit in tight spots. Through a collaboration with FOH engineer for the Charlie Daniels Band, Bob Workman (hence the “BW” designation), the 4-inch tall PR 31 BW was developed.
The PR 31 BW realizes all the benefits of the PR 30 in a smaller footprint suitable for mounting to toms and for capturing cymbals from underneath, as well as from overhead. As with the PR 30, there’s no worrying about picking up nearby sounds from other drums, or other sources. And also like the PR 30, there’s no worrying about overload.
The PR 31 BW is great for vocals, guitar cabinets, brass horns, saxophone, and piano and it will even fit inside Leslie speaker cabinets, and more. There are a variety of mounting options from Heil for drums, guitar and vocals/broadcasting.
Frequency Range: 40 Hz - 18 kHz
The frequency response 40 Hz - 18 kHz provides a wide enough range to capture all the fine musical and sonic details.
Polar Pattern: Cardioid
The cardioid directional microphone is designed to be most sensitive to sounds coming directly from the front and less sensitive to sounds coming from the sides and back. This directional pattern resembles the shape of a heart (hence the name "cardioid") and is ideal for situations where it is necessary to focus on a single sound source and minimize ambient noise.
Sound Pressure Level (SPL): 146
High SPL levels up to 146 allow you to experience the sound as it was originally intended, with sufficient volume and dynamics.
