24" Orchestral Timpani Evans™ Orchestral Series Timpani Heads are pre-tensioned for tuning consitency and have a black, power-coated steel insert ring that delivers desired effect when pedaled and affords additional support once the head is under tension. It performs magnificently at pianissimo with soft mallets, yet will not break up or sound harsh under the stress of triple forte. Through all dynamic ranges, Orchestral Series Timpani heads retain definite pitch.

Clear drumheads are made from transparent film and provide a bright, open tone with enhanced attack and longer sustain. They tend to offer more resonance and articulation, making them suitable for situations where clarity and projection are important. The smooth surface ensures fast response and pronounced overtones.

A single-ply drumhead consists of one thin layer of film, typically around 7–10 mil thick.
