If you connect these speakers via the OPTICAL OUTPUT of your computer (or other device), you will achieve the best possible sound from these speakers. If you add 3db of treble on the treble potentiometer and subtract 2db of bass on the bass potentiometer, you will get a balanced sound in my opinion. Of course, for this price you cannot expect "sound orgies", BUT... this is one of the best purchases in terms of price/sound/quality "ever". If you do not have and do not want to buy additional speaker stands for your PC, then you need tilted speakers for your PC. THESE ARE THEM..... If you do not want to invest in an external sound card and simply want to get the MAXIMUM quality sound from the speakers, then you connect them via the optical output of your device (computer, etc.)... The bass reflex holes are in the front - this is very practical. I do not regret buying them. I returned the Edifier S880DB, they had too little bass (less than when I subtract 2db from the bass on the R1855DB). And - it felt like they weren't "tilted". When you have the speakers on a table (not right on its front edge), you either need stands or the speakers to be tilted. In conclusion: You can fine-tune the sound via potentiometers or via an equalizer. IT IS NORMAL, it's not a "crumbling" of the sound. Do you listen to dance music or hip-hop? Do you leave the bass at "zero" (or add it). Do you listen to more guitar music or jazz, classical? You reduce the bass... add the treble... ALL WITHOUT SOUND DEGRADATION, you just adjust it. I definitely recommend these active speakers. By the way, they will also play frequencies BELOW 60Hz. At the 40Hz bass test, the "awakening" of the bass component is already starting to be heard, at 50Hz it is basically full-fledged. The DSP did its job. :-)
