Children of Bodom was a prominent Finnish melodic death metal band formed in Espoo in 1993, initially known as Inearthed. The final lineup featured vocalist and guitarist Alexi Laiho, drummer Jaska Raatikainen, bassist Henkka Seppälä, keyboardist Janne Wirman, and guitarist Daniel Freyberg. Over their career, they released ten studio albums and became one of Finland’s best-selling acts, with over 250,000 records sold in their home country. Their breakthrough album, Follow the Reaper, achieved gold status, and several albums topped the Finnish charts and appeared on the US Billboard 200. The band played their final concert in 2019 in Helsinki before disbanding. Afterward, Laiho and Freyberg formed Bodom After Midnight until Laiho’s passing in December 2020.
