The bass has incredible workmanship for the price. These models are made in the Mexican Fender factory (Ensenada). My Fender 'Big Block' Precision Bass (deluxe series) from 2007 also comes from this factory, and I must say that the Mexicans have made huge progress in those 15 years. The quality of workmanship has improved enormously. My old Mexican Fender is great, I love it, but you can see the glue leaking on the fretboard near the inlays, the uneven surface of the body, and on the back of the headstock - under the tuning machine there is an unnecessary hole milled. There is nothing like that on this Charvel. Everything is perfect - a beautiful neck (I have never held anything more comfortable in my hands), great DiMarzio pickups, it does not fall on the head or body. The neck was perfectly adjusted from the factory, even when I pulled the bass out of the box, it was tuned. It is well suited to classic rock, heavy metal, punk - anything harder. With a little patience, you can get a softer, velvety tone out of it, but still, this sound position doesn't suit it naturally (that's what my Fender is good at). Charvel just wants to be sucked in, that's what it feels best at and is known for. Sound very similar to the Fender Jazz Bass special as we know it from Duff McKagan.
