He gained international recognition as the lead guitarist and a founding member of Queen, shaping the band's legendary sound alongside Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. Renowned for his unique guitar style and the iconic Red Special guitar he built himself, May wrote many of Queen's most famous songs, such as We Will Rock You, I Want It All, and The Show Must Go On. Queen rose to global stardom with albums like A Night at the Opera and their electrifying Live Aid performance.
Beyond music, May holds a PhD in astrophysics and has worked with NASA on the New Horizons and OSIRIS-REx missions.
