Black Star Riders is a hard rock band formed in December 2012 by members of Thin Lizzy's 2011–2012 lineup who wanted to create new music without using the Thin Lizzy name. While Thin Lizzy still performs occasionally, Black Star Riders has established itself as a dedicated, full-time group and is recognized as a modern continuation of the Thin Lizzy legacy.
Fronted by Ricky Warwick, the original lineup included Scott Gorham on guitar and Marco Mendoza on bass, with several member changes over the years. The band’s music is known for its energetic hard rock sound, blending classic influences with a contemporary edge.
Black Star Riders released their debut album, All Hell Breaks Loose, in 2013, followed by The Killer Instinct in 2015 and Heavy Fire in 2017, which reached the top ten in the UK Albums Chart. They continued to evolve their sound with new members, releasing the album Wrong Side of Paradise and celebrating their 10th anniversary with a UK tour featuring returning founding members.
Signed with Earache Records, Black Star Riders continues to record and tour, carrying forward the spirit of classic rock with a fresh identity.
