Billie Joe Armstrong is an American musician and actor, best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and main songwriter for Green Day, which he co-founded with Mike Dirnt in 1987. Recognized as one of punk rock’s greatest guitarists, he also performs with Pinhead Gunpowder and leads side projects such as Foxboro Hot Tubs, the Network, the Longshot, and the Coverups. Starting music at an early age, Armstrong formed what would become Green Day as a teenager. Beyond music, he has appeared in films and TV series, and contributed as a writer and actor to the Tony Award-winning musical American Idiot. Armstrong has also been involved in business ventures, including founding Adeline Records and co-founding the coffee company Punk Bunny Coffee.
