Archie Bell and the Drells were a Houston-based R and B vocal group prominent in the late 1960s. Working with producers Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff before they launched Philadelphia International Records, the group is best known for their energetic hit Tighten Up and other dance classics like I Can't Stop Dancing, The Soul City Walk, and Don't Let Love Get You Down. Their upbeat sound and memorable grooves made them a staple of soul and funk music in the seventies.
