Powdered masking medium. Like masking fluid, powder is used to protect surfaces from paint when painting with watercolours. Before painting, apply the powder to the paper where you want to leave blank spaces. After painting, you can remove the powder with an eraser. Powder, unlike liquid, creates an interesting textural effect because, unlike liquid, it only stays on certain parts of the paper and does not form a consistent surface.
