Instruments with offset bodies have been around since the 1950s, but few were as quirky and futuristic-looking as the Guild S-300, introduced in 1977. Its dramatic cutaways and contoured curves combined with its Soft U neck shape made it exceedingly comfortable and easy to play—while also ensuring that its player stood out on stage.
