Gretsch Energy 7 Piece Black Fame Shell Pack
The Gretsch Drums Energy 7 Piece Black Fame is a shell-only drum kit built around 7-ply poplar shells. The 22"x18" bass drum anchors the setup, with 8", 10", and 12" rack toms, 14" and 16" floor toms, and a 14"x6.5" snare drum — a versatile spread for rock, pop, and fusion. 30° Gretsch bearing edges and 1.6 mm triple-flanged hoops deliver the focused, warm attack Gretsch is known for, finished in Black Fame wrap with chrome hardware.
What to know before buying
This is a shell pack only — no hardware, cymbals, or stands are included, so existing gear is needed to get playing. Factory Remo heads come mounted, so the kit is ready to tune once paired with hardware.
Series: Energy
The Energy Series offers outstanding value with its poplar shells, providing a perfect balance of warmth, punch, and sustain. Ideal for both beginners and experienced drummers, this series delivers the iconic Gretsch sound in a variety of configurations and finishes.
Shell Material: Poplar
Poplar is an efficient and lightweight wood. It produces a warm and punchy sound with a balanced tone that sits well in the mix without overpowering other instruments. The attack is smooth, and the sustain is moderate, providing a great foundation for both beginner and intermediate drummers. Poplar shells produce a clean and focused tone, ideal for a wide range of musical genres.
Number of Plies: 7
The number of layers affects the overall resonance, sustain, and tonal qualities of the drums. With 7 layers, the sound becomes even more focused, providing a deeper low-end response and a tighter midrange, while maintaining smooth and controlled high frequencies.
