D'Addario NYXL 080 Single Guitar String

NYXL .080 Single Replacement String for Electric Guitar

The D'Addario NYXL .080 Nickel Wound Single is a single replacement string for electric guitar, sold individually so players can swap out a broken or worn string without committing to a full set. It uses the same reformulated nickel-plated steel wrap wire found across the NYXL line, engineered for improved magnetic properties that produce higher output and greater midrange frequency response in the 1–3.5 kHz range. At .080, this string is a natural fit for the low E position on heavier sets, drop tunings, or any custom string build where a thick wound single is needed. Round-wound construction preserves the familiar bright attack and biting tone that most electric guitar players expect from a nickel string. Designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA.

Who This String Is For

The D'Addario NYXL .080 single is the right choice for electric guitar players who need a heavy-gauge wound replacement string without buying a full set. It suits rock, blues, and metal players running heavier string gauges or drop tunings who want the enhanced midrange crunch and improved tuning stability that the NYXL series is known for. The single-format packaging also makes it ideal for players building custom gauge sets, replacing a broken low E, or maintaining instruments like lap steel guitars that use individual strings. Built on D'Addario's reformulated nickel-plated steel platform and made in the USA, this string delivers the same presence and durability as the full NYXL sets in a single-serve format.
