Control Knobs
A control knob is a simple way to replace a damaged part or change the appearance of a guitar or another piece of music equipment. Before choosing one, measure the potentiometer shaft and identify whether it is smooth, splined or split. The mounting method also matters: push-on fitting or a side set screw.
Details that need to match
- The diameter and type of potentiometer shaft.
- The outside diameter and height of the knob so that it does not obstruct nearby controls.
- The scale, pointer and number of pieces in the pack.
Do not force the knob onto the shaft during installation; the wrong size can damage both the knob and the potentiometer.
