Code Orange is an American metalcore band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, formed in 2008 while its members were still in high school. Originally known as Code Orange Kids, the band began with a hardcore punk sound before evolving to include metalcore, grunge, nu metal, electronica, and industrial influences. The current lineup features Jami Morgan on vocals, Reba Meyers on guitar and vocals, Eric Shade Balderose on keyboards, programming, guitar, and vocals, Joe Goldman on bass, Dominic Landolina on guitar, and Max Portnoy on drums. They released their early albums on Deathwish Inc., including their debut Love Is Love Return to Dust and I Am King, before moving to Roadrunner Records for their later work: Forever, Underneath, and their most recent album, The Above, released in 2023. Code Orange has received significant critical acclaim and industry recognition, winning a Kerrang Award for Best International Breakthrough and a Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Breakthrough Artist, as well as earning multiple Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance. Their music is known for its aggressive experimentation and genre-blending approach, making them one of the most innovative acts in modern heavy music.
