It is a hybrid of a directional mono microphone and a stereo microphone, and that was the main reason why I chose this particular model, even though the use of the stereo mode outdoors is minimal, because it is almost always full of noises that we don't want there. In order to suppress unwanted ambient noises, a rifle directional mono microphone is good for that, which also fulfills its function excellently. If the gain on the microphone +20 dB is used, the preamplifier on the camera can be set to a lower value and the microphone's own noise disappears. I am surprised how well the microphone eliminates wind noise even without the hairy cover, which is called the dead cat in the original. I was considering Azden for 360 euros, which has exactly the same functions as this one. I chose three times cheaper and I don't regret it, it met my expectations 100%. Super two-in-one microphone, if someone can't decide whether mono or stereo, I recommend it, but also warn, stereo mode is only good for recording in the studio, indoors without unwanted noises, or for example the sounds of a forest or a waterfall in complete windlessness, which is almost never the case in practice, but I'm still glad that this microphone offers a stereo mode, that's why I chose this one.
