25 - 49 Keys

Cases for keyboards with 25 to 49 keys protect a compact instrument during transport and storage. Within this size group, body depth, control height and connector position can differ considerably. A shorter keybed therefore does not automatically fit every small case. Measure the whole instrument before choosing, not only the section with the keys.

For a compact instrument, focus on its shape

Rotary controls, pads or a raised panel can increase the required height and depth. Compare the case's internal length, width and height with the widest points of the keyboard. Leave a reasonable clearance for loading, but not so much free space that the instrument moves while you walk. If the manufacturer lists compatible models, use that list together with the measurements.

Carrying it around town, to lessons or to the studio

• A handle or shoulder strap can be practical for short journeys when the product specifications allow it.
• For backpack-style carrying, check whether straps are included and what load the manufacturer permits.
• Use a cable pocket only when its contents will not press against the instrument's controls.
• Compare the padding around the corners and base, which take most of the load when the case is put down.

Check the weight of the empty case before ordering as well. With a compact keyboard, there is little benefit in adding carrying weight without the protection you actually need. A lighter option against dust and minor scratches may be enough for storage at home; frequent travel calls for the protection specified for the particular case.
