Spray Paints

Spray paint covers a surface with a finely dispersed coating and enables gradients, stenciling, and an even base. The result depends on the nozzle, distance, speed of movement, and the paint's suitability for the surface. Safe working conditions take priority over the artistic effect. Use it only in the manner and environment permitted by the manufacturer.

The nozzle determines the spray width

  • A fine nozzle is suitable for narrower lines and smaller details.
  • A wide nozzle covers an area more quickly.
  • A soft spray helps create gradients and shading.

Make a short test on the same material before working on the artwork and adjust the distance to prevent runs.

The surface must be clean and stable

Dust, grease, and peeling old coatings reduce adhesion. Build up several light coats instead of applying one heavy spray, and follow the specified time between them. Secure the stencil so the airflow does not lift it. At the edge, spray away from the mask rather than underneath it.

Ventilation, protection, and can storage

Follow the instructions for respiratory, eye, skin, and surrounding-area protection. Do not expose the can to heat, damage it, or store it near sources of sparks. Clean the nozzle after use according to the instructions. Related artistic applications are grouped under Graffiti.
