Linkin Park Vinyl LP Records
Linkin Park vinyl LP records cover the Californian band's entire career, from the nu metal debut Hybrid Theory through experiments with electronics to the album From Zero with new singer Emily Armstrong. The range includes every studio album from the era with singer Chester Bennington, the remix album Reanimation, the singles collection Papercuts and the live recording Unshatter. Several albums come not only on standard black vinyl but also as a limited edition on coloured vinyl or as an anniversary box set of four records. If you want hits like In The End, Numb and What I've Done in one place, go for the double album Papercuts.
How did the band's sound change from Hybrid Theory to From Zero?
- Hybrid Theory (2000) and Meteora (2003): nu metal in which Bennington's vocals alternate with Mike Shinoda's rap. This is where In The End, Crawling, Numb and Faint come from.
- Minutes To Midnight (2007): a shift away from nu metal towards rock and ballads, produced by Rick Rubin. Well-known tracks include What I've Done and Shadow Of The Day.
- A Thousand Suns (2010) and Living Things (2012): more electronics. A Thousand Suns is a concept album whose tracks flow into one another, so listen to it from start to finish.
- The Hunting Party (2014): a return to heavy guitars and faster tempos.
- One More Light (2017): a pop-leaning album and the last studio album with Chester Bennington.
- From Zero (2024): the first album with singer Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, with Mike Shinoda remaining the second vocalist.
The year given refers to the original album, not to the specific record, which often comes from a later reissue.
What are Reanimation, Papercuts, Lost Demos and Unshatter?
Reanimation from 2002 is a remix album on which hip hop and electronic musicians reworked the songs from Hybrid Theory. It comes on two records labelled gatefold, which means a fold-out sleeve. Papercuts brings together the band's singles from 2000 to 2023, also on two records. Lost Demos features the band's demo recordings, and Unshatter is the music from a concert film recorded live in São Paulo, on two records of coloured vinyl.
Black vinyl, coloured edition or anniversary box set?
Hybrid Theory is available in three editions: as a reissue on a single record labelled gatefold, as a limited edition on yellow translucent vinyl and as an anniversary box set of four records for the album's twentieth birthday. Meteora comes as a standard reissue, as a limited edition on vinyl with red and gold splatter and as an expanded edition on four records for its twentieth anniversary.
Minutes To Midnight also has a limited edition, which is numbered. Also on coloured vinyl are The Hunting Party in light blue, Living Things in Red Smoke and From Zero on both blue and green vinyl. All records play at 33 1/3 RPM. The band's albums on CD are on the Linkin Park Music CDs page, and the Linkin Park LP Records and CDs page shows records and CDs together.
