Peggy Lee, born Norma Deloris Egstrom on May 26, 1920, was a renowned American singer, songwriter, and actress whose influential career lasted seven decades. Rising from local radio to fame with Benny Goodman's orchestra, she became known for her elegant, expressive style in jazz and popular music. Nicknamed the Queen of American pop music, Lee recorded over a thousand songs and co-wrote hundreds more. She is also remembered for her memorable voice work and songwriting in the Disney film Lady and the Tramp.
