Each playing surface features a single trigger zone. Only one sound can be triggered per surface, making it suitable for basic applications. In the case of cymbals, this typically corresponds to a full-surface crash or ride hit.

Recommends product

To begin with, it should be noted that my review will be a bit longer, which I will explain later. I decided on this model because I started learning to play drums alongside my daughter, I started playing electric drums myself, on a Yamaha dtx 532 set. I am left-handed and since I was lazy to learn to play like a left-handed person, tossing the drumstick... I started playing on the right side. After a very short time, a few months, when I already had a feeling of the genius of my playing, I visited my daughter's drum teacher to ask if I could play acoustic drums and honestly it was a complete disaster, which consisted mainly in the fact that the head on the kick drum behaves completely differently compared to the standard kick pad. First, I play with my non-dominant foot, and secondly, I couldn't stand the bounce, hit the time... Hold and press the hammer properly to the head. To the joy of my daughter and myself, we ordered the KP100 at the last minute, taking the risk that there was no test about it, just a few videos on YouTube and austere technical parameters about noise reduction on the manufacturer's website. Now, why is this such a confusing review? Everyone can find the technical parameters for themselves, so the question is whether to buy this product or not, honestly, for about 6 times the price of the lower model, you will not actually get any added super function, also one potentiometer for adjusting the intensity, one output, one input, larger dimensions, so you can prepare for moving the lower connecting rod of the rack upwards, I also saw a two-step pedal on the lower models and I did not feel any alleged increase in the quality of the trigger, as far as its sensitivity is concerned. The difference is the sound that the same hammer makes on this pad, the sound is hollower, the resonances to the floor are lower in my opinion. The real difference is the feeling when playing, the pad behaves more like an acoustic instrument thanks to the surface, the hammer reflection is much more real. I got the feeling from the construction that I could load more on the pad. Today I was with the teacher again and his reaction was that finally the kick drum hit is more punchy and specific, that this is good. What I failed to play for several hours today went much better. So in conclusion, if you are looking for a kick that plays, you also play acoustic drums and the transition is not a problem for you, feel free to go for a lower model which is much cheaper. If you want to get closer to an acoustic instrument in terms of hammer response, I write closer on purpose, it is not the same, go for this model which is bigger, more beautiful, more robust and the resonances it transmits are lower.

Pros: Compared to the standard lower model, this is a finish that feels much closer to an acoustic instrument in terms of hammer bounce.

Cons: The price is several times higher than a similar lower model.
