Sublime is a ska punk band from Long Beach, California, known for blending ska, punk, and reggae influences. Formed in 1988, the original lineup featured Bradley Nowell on vocals and guitar, Eric Wilson on bass, and Bud Gaugh on drums, with Nowell’s dalmatian Lou Dog as their mascot. The band gained widespread recognition with their 1996 self-titled album, released shortly after Nowell’s death, which included hits like What I Got and Santeria. Sublime’s music has sold millions of albums worldwide and remains influential. After disbanding in 1996, surviving members later performed as Sublime with Rome. In 2023, Gaugh, Wilson, and Jakob Nowell—Bradley’s son—reformed Sublime, continuing the band’s legacy.
