Primal Scream is a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1982 by Bobby Gillespie and Jim Beattie. Known for their constantly evolving sound, they started in the indie pop scene before moving through psychedelic and garage rock, and reaching mainstream success with the dance-influenced album Screamadelica in 1991. The lineup now features Gillespie, Andrew Innes, Simone Butler, and Darrin Mooney. Over the years, Primal Scream has experimented across genres, including blues, trip hop and industrial rock. Their latest album, Come Ahead, was released on 8 November 2024.
