Deep Purple

Deep Purple is an English rock band formed in London in 1968, widely recognized as a pioneer of heavy metal and hard rock. Starting with psychedelic and progressive rock, they adopted a heavier style with the release of Deep Purple in Rock in 1970. Alongside Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, Deep Purple is considered part of the "unholy trinity" of British hard rock and heavy metal. Known for their powerful live performances, they were once listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's loudest band. With over one hundred million records sold worldwide, Deep Purple's influence extends across generations and genres. The band has undergone numerous lineup changes, spawning acclaimed offshoots like Rainbow, Whitesnake, and Gillan. Their classic era produced iconic albums such as Machine Head and Fireball. Deep Purple was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 and remains an influential force in rock music.
