Soulfly is an American heavy metal band from Phoenix, Arizona, founded in 1997 by Max Cavalera after his departure from Sepultura. Known for blending aggressive metal with Brazilian tribal and world music influences, Soulfly has released twelve studio albums, including their 1998 self-titled debut and the 2022 album Totem. Their lyrics explore themes ranging from spirituality and politics to war and aggression.
