I just recently bought a Røde M2 and it's my first condenser microphone. My budget is modest and the price of this one suited me perfectly Right out of the box I was impressed by the solid look and weight. I had researched its specs beforehand and knew it had a very even amplitude-frequency response, but the result exceeded my expectations. My voice is tenor and timbral, which sounds good on almost any microphone, but I found that with the M2 my voice was somehow more recognizable on record. I haven't used it yet in front of a large audience with powerful equipment and can't judge the feedback resistance, but the handling noises are no greater than the Shure SM58 (which I have). Other good details are the gold-plated XLR-plug pins and the presence of an ON/OFF switch. Somewhere I read negative comments about the switch, but in my opinion accidental switching is practically impossible with this design and there is also the option of locking with a small screw. And add in the 10 year warranty after registration on the Røde website, the deal is more than excellent.
