Sigur Rós is an Icelandic post-rock band formed in Reykjavík in 1994, featuring Jónsi Birgisson, Georg Hólm, and Kjartan Sveinsson. The band is acclaimed for its ethereal sound, soaring falsetto vocals, and the distinctive use of bowed guitar. Blending classical and minimalist influences, Sigur Rós creates atmospheric music sung in both Icelandic and their own invented language, Vonlenska.
